Arrival instructions
Hello Soft Landing Campers!
Are you Excited? Nervous? Anxious? No matter what, you are coming home and have nothing to worry about! Below are important reminders as well as ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Shifts and Dues:
If you haven’t already, please sign up for shifts and pay your camp dues. All the information is on the webpage!
Procrastinator Alert! If you pay your dues after Tuesday, please bring a printed copy of your receipt.
On-Playa Camp Meetings (all in Palenque Norte)
Pod Leaders Meeting: 11:30 a.m. on Monday
All Camper Meeting: 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday
All campers on playa are expected to attend. If you arrive later in the week, connect with your pod lead or a member of the SL leadership team to get the information.
Camp Gathering: 8ish or 9ish on Thursday
ESSENTIAL: ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Please be vigilant with speed limits and darkwads that are in the city. It will be dusty and hard to see when you arrive! As you approach camp (the corner of 7:00 and E), there are a few important items to help you with your arrival.
Front of Soft Landing is on 7:00.
When you arrive:
Please park in one the GREEN area in the image below (in front of the Tea House and Palenque Norte Tent). DO NOT park in the street!
Check in to the Tea House. The Tea House will find the Camp Mayor, who will give you a big dusty hug and check you in/place you in your camping spot.
If you arrive after 10:00 PM, please park in the GREEN area and relax in the Tea House or the Palenque Norte Tent until the morning when the Camp Mayor has had some coffee/breakfast and they will welcome you and place you.
IMPORTANT - Do not drive through camp. Based on the weather during build week, Build Crew will have stuff laying around and we don’t want to damage your vehicle. If you do damage your vehicle, we will support you, but plan on staying for a day of Strike Crew.
Camp Mayor will confirm dues paid, shift sign-ups, so if you haven’t done either, please do that now. Please remember the principle of Radical Self Reliance. We don’t recommend challenging the All Knowing Clipboard of Truth!
We cannot wait to see you all and reconnect, have fun, heal, and explore new adventures! Soft Landing’s family reunions are the best! And if you are new to camp, we cannot wait to welcome you!
